Moonlit River

This is an 8.2x11.6 inch acrylic on 200gsm gessoed paper painting.

The story behind this is really interesting. It's painted at night by moonlight. No other light at all. And it's painted right down at the river where I live.

It's an exciting process, because all you can see while you're painting is the value of the paint, the shade of light and dark. The colour is good guesswork. You see it for the first time, clearly, when you come into the light. The surprises can be a delight, mostly, and occasionally a disappointment. I'm happy to say that this one was delight.

This artwork is available for purchase on my DailyPaintWorks site.
